Biking is the best way to discover an area. Maybe hiking is better but you need so much time.
Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon and then Chelley and Chaco in New Mexico. Finishing in Albuquerque., I'm going to do it.
But the more I read on Travel Forums and Sites the more I get in doubt.
The mountains: 7000 feet is no problem but when it's going up and down all the time.
Lodging: because I don't want too much luggage no camping. Prebooking is difficult, you're not flexible. But is there much choice left? And 20 nights paying 50 - 80 dollars for a room that's beyond my budget. Rooms are meant and priced for two persons I understand.
And a simple bed and breakfast?
Up till now I couldn't find anything.
For camping the nights are pretty cool. And that means taking more luggage except my lightweight tent.
Maybe better do the cycling round Tucson. From the basis camp and that's my cousin's home.
It seems to be a gorgeous area. The same round Albuquerque and of course visiting the pueblos.
And the other highlights by public transport?!
Grand Canyon and Chaco I won't miss them of course.
Or made the trip first to ABQ and taking the southern route. On the way back Greyhound to Flagstaff and then the Canyon?!
These are the dilemmas now.
